The central domain of his practice is abstract painting, whose perfect form he sought over decades. His works embody “…an experience of spiritual creation, a dialogue with the material, the ability to hear the growth of the canvas as a living organism, the sublime moment when the canvas begins to shine”.
According to art critics, a mysterious force lives within Tsiupko’s works. The simple forms of his abstractions are easily perceived by the eye, yet vision cannot easily let them go: their inexhaustible inner space and energy captivate the viewer.
Volodymyr Tsiupko has taken part in international exhibitions and biennales in Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Italy, Denmark, and Japan.
Tsiupko’s works are preserved in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the art museums of Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and Ivano-Frankivsk, the collection of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, as well as in private collections in Odesa, Munich, Düren, Gdańsk, and Warsaw.
